Another success for marika heinlein: the ultra runner, who competes for FC geesdorf, returned from the german championships in the 24-hour race with an outstanding fourth place in the overall women’s ranking and first place in her age group W 55. On the challenging course in a park at the friedenstein castle in gotha, she covered a total of 193.62 kilometers, the fourth furthest distance in the competition of the 35 participating women. Although they were well behind the first three, they were also twelve kilometers ahead of the fifth-placed team.

The fastest woman was antje krause, who started for the ultrasportclub marburg, with 219 kilometers, ahead of julia fatton (TV rheinau, 210) and nadja koch (SSC scharmede, 200). Alexandra martin, who runs for TSV prichsenstadt, achieved a respectable eleventh place in the german title races, covering 153.7 kilometers.

For marika heinlein, her annual running highlight follows again at the end of september. Then she will set off for greece to take part in the spartathlon. The 246-kilometer race from athens to sparta, which has a time limit of 36 hours, is considered the ultimate ultra race in the world.
