At a members’ meeting of the odp neustadt, the members unanimously decided, after in-depth discussion, to run their own candidate in the election for mayor on 27 june. In his introductory speech, buchner addressed a number of issues with which he wanted to set himself apart from the candidates of the other parties and groupings. With four candidates, buchner believes it is likely that the future mayor will only be determined in a runoff election. Buchner’s motto "vision and experience is not just an advertising slogan, but is backed up by his years of social and political work.
